Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have both been eliminated in the second part of qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix, in a huge shock.
Leclerc ended Q2 in 11th whilst Sainz was just 0.037s behind in P12, with Lance Stroll having been responsible for both drivers failing to make the cut for the final part of qualifying.
The home driver improved on his final lap to demote Leclerc from 10th to 11th, whilst Sainz's final time was not even provisionally enough for the top 10.
Leclerc missed out on Q3 by just 0.032s, much to the Monaco Grand Prix winner's disbelief.
Sainz immediately complained of a lack of grip, whilst Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the second part of qualifying at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
