Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has insisted that he is "2,000%" behind Lewis Hamilton, following a difficult Saudi Arabian Grand Prix for the Briton.

Hamilton struggled for outright pace at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and raised concerns after second practice that reaching the top 10 shootout would be a challenge.

He did progress into the final part of qualifying where he secured seventh on the grid, behind Carlos Sainz for the second consecutive grand prix.

The seven-time world champion converted seventh on the grid to seventh in the race, finishing a staggering 31 seconds behind team-mate Charles Leclerc in third.

It marked Hamilton's latest disappointing race for Ferrari, with him continuing to struggle with the balance of his SF-25.

Despite his difficulties, he continues to have the full support of Vasseur and the Maranello-based outfit.

"I will be 2,000% behind him, and I will be mega supportive," Vasseur told select media including RacingNews365

"We will start from Monday morning to try to find reasons and solutions and to work on him. But honestly, I'm not too worried, if you have a look at what he did in China, or what he did in the race in Bahrain last week, or even in the first part of his stint.

"The potential is there, for sure. We just have to adjust the balance, because, as we are collectively listeners, we are struggling with the balance of his car and and it's overheating the tyres and it's a kind of negative. But I'm sure that the potential of the car is there."
