Oliver Bearman has predicted there will be movement in the driver market this year as competitors assess who is best placed in the pecking order.
Formula 1 regulations underwent a major overhaul this season, with significant changes made to both the power units and aerodynamic rules.
A number of current drivers are out of contract at the end of the campaign, creating uncertainty over how next year’s grid may shape up.
Bearman is widely tipped for a future Ferrari drive, having been part of the team’s junior academy for several years.
However, the Briton says he is not focused on securing a seat as early as possible, as he refuses to work to a specific timeline.
“For me of course I’m contracted to Ferrari, they’ve put trust in me since the very beginning, so it’s natural that my ultimate target is to be with them,” Bearman told Press Association.
“At the moment the goal is to continue building with Haas, I’m super happy with the trajectory that we’re on.
“So no timeline, no problems.”
With five rounds completed, a clear pecking order has begun to emerge. However, upgrades could still reshuffle the order as the season progresses.
Bearman stated that drivers will be closely monitoring rival teams to assess where the best opportunities for success may arise.
“I think the end of this year is important because a lot of people are having their contracts ending,” he said.
“Everyone wanted to see how the pecking order was in 2026 and that will then determine what 2027 looks like.”
