In the aftermath of the Dutch Grand Prix, Frederic Vasseur and Charles Leclerc announced that Ferrari would bring an upgrade package to Monza.
After a promising start to the season, Ferrari has slipped down in the pecking order with the SF-24 suffering from porpoising after an upgrade at the Spanish GP as McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes have pulled away.
However, there were signs of a recovery with Leclerc taking third at Zandvoort in a strong race for the team with Sainz taking fifth from 11th on the grid.
RacingNews365 understands that the upgrades Ferrari will be introducing in Monza can be considered exceptional, including a rear wing designed especially for the high speeds found at the track.
This is an extraordinary decision for the team, given upgrade packages are designed to work over a variety of tracks and with the budget cap preventing teams from creating too many parts.
There are also limitations on wind tunnel and CFD testing time.
There are suggestions that the rear wing could only be used at Monza, with the floor and rear beam wing also receiving upgrades to aid Leclerc and Sainz's push in front of the Tifosi, with the hope being that the team can improve its fortunes and close the gap to the cars ahead.
