Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur will skip Saturday in Monaco on medical grounds, the team has confirmed.
Vasseur was trackside on Thursday and Friday at the famous Monte-Carlo track, with Ferrari enjoying a strong practice day by topping both sessions.
However, the decision has been taken to keep Vasseur in a nearby medical facility after checks were carried out after the opening day of on-track action.
Ferrari did not provide details of Vasseur's ailment, but outlined its hope to see the Frenchman trackside again soon.
“Fred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit today,” read a statement from the team.
“Following some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility.
“No further medical information will be provided.
“We wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”
