Fernando Alonso will miss first practice ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, with Aston Martin to run its official reserve and third driver, Jak Crawford.
It will mark Crawford's third FP1 appearance of 2026 in the AMR26, having already taken part in the opening session in Japan and Austria.
Each team must field a rookie driver in four practice sessions across a campaign, meaning Aston Martin will have to use likely Crawford once more this year.
For Alonso, it will represent the final first practice session of the year where a rookie will replace him, as it was the two-time champion who handed over his car in Suzuka.
It means Lance Stroll will at some stage later in the campaign miss a second FP1, having recently sat out for Crawford in Austria.
