Aston Martin Formula 1 reserve driver Felipe Drugovich will take part in the upcoming rookie test with the Maserati Formula E team. The Brazilian filled in for the injured Lance Stroll during F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain, and now looks set to make a potential appearance in the all-electric Formula E series. "Maserati MSG Racing is delighted to confirm that Felipe Drugovich and Hugh Barter will form the team’s driver line-up for Formula E’s upcoming rookie test in Berlin on Monday 24th April," read the statement from the team. The last rookie test in Formula E was held in the 2019/2020 season and is often used to identify some of the series' top talents. Drugovich will take part in the rookie test with Hugh Barter. “I can’t wait to get my first taste of the Maserati Tipo Folgore and Gen3 Formula E in Berlin," said Drugovich. "Formula E is a category that has always fascinated me, and it will be intriguing to experience the differences of a fully-electric car in comparison to the single-seaters I’ve raced in recent seasons. "Knowing that I will be playing an active role in the development of such an iconic brand, in its first season back in World Championship motorsport, is a huge honour. I’m very excited.” Maserati entered for the first time in the 2022/23 season and currently field Maximillian Gunther and Edoardo Mortara.
