It was announced on Monday that Ocon would be leaving the Enstone team at the end of 2024 after five seasons, in which he picked up a maiden grand prix victory in the '21 Hungarian GP.
The Frenchman's next team and the driver Alpine will replace him with were not revealed in the statement, with RacingNews365 polling its audience to find out how fans would like to see race alongside Pierre Gasly in 2025.
With over 3,000 votes cast, Alpine reserves Doohan and Schumacher have emerged with 68.12% of those, translating into 2,070 votes.
Doohan has been touted as the most likely candidate for promotion after carrying out FP1 sessions for Alpine, whilst Schumacher is eager to get back into F1 having fallen off the grid after losing his Haas seat at the end of 2022.
He is currently racing for Alpine in the WEC, but is also not expected to be a major contender for the vacant Mercedes seat, opened up by Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari.
