With a 102-point gap between Kimi Antonelli and George Russell at the top of the F1 drivers' standings, it appears to be a foregone conclusion that the 20-year-old Italian will become the youngest champion in the sport's history.
Try as he might, Russell has struggled to keep his second-season rival in check, and there appears to be little he can do to prevent the inevitable from happening. Or is there?
In a funny on-stage moment, as the duo addressed fans in a forum event at the Circuit of the Americas ahead of Sunday's United States Grand Prix, it appears Russell has the answer.
Strict licensing laws in Texas mean alcohol is forbidden to anyone under the age of 21, leaving Russell to cook up a devilish plot for this weekend.
After telling Antonelli he was going to take him drinking, Russell added: "Actually, this could be a good way to beat you in the championship, to get you arrested on Sunday night," drawing laughter and gasps from the crowd.
