For the 20 F1 drivers, it was a moment they will never forget.
Throughout their careers, they have driven various types of four-wheeled machinery en route to competing in motorsport's top tier - but nothing like they experienced ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
The geniuses at Lego have developed some astonishing creations over the years, but surely what was witnessed at the Miami International Autodrome will take some beating.
For the parade lap, there was no standing on the back of a flat-bed truck or being passengers, waving from the back seat, in glorious cars of yesteryear.
On this occasion, the drivers were able to dip into their inner kid and turn the wheel of fully drivable, full-size Lego replicas of their F1 cars, complete with team colours and liveries.
The cars are based on Lego's F1 Speed Champions range that was unveiled late last year, and have been designed to celebrate Formula 1 and the LEGO Group’s ongoing, multi-year partnership.
Each car has been created by a team of 26 designers, engineers and builders, over 22,000 hours. At a near 1:1 in scale, the cars comprised 400,000 bricks, weighing 1,000kg - more than a real F1 car - reaching speeds of 20 km/h and genuine Pirelli tyres.
