F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem are to participate in the drivers’ Lego minicar parade at Silverstone, RacingNews365 understands.
On Thursday, it was announced that after the success of the Lego car parade at the 2025 Miami GP, a fresh twist was being added as the event returned at Silverstone, with each of the 22 drivers being given their own individual minicar, consisting of 28,000 bricks apiece.
RacingNews365 understands from well-placed sources that Domenicali and Ben Sulayem are will each drive a minicar to the starting grid ahead of the official parade lap, but not take part in it.
It is understood that the drivers will already be assembled in the FIA garage when Domenicali and Ben Sulayem bring the cars to the grid.
The drivers themselves have had a mixed reaction to the minicar parade, with Lewis Hamilton voicing doubt that he could participate in the event shortly after it was announced, whilst Max Verstappen opined that F1 did not need the spectacle of drivers not looking “like kids and clowns trying to ram into each other.”
