Esteban Ocon has confirmed he has no intention of being present in any race paddock other than F1 next year, even if it means he will be without a race seat.

Haas and Ocon confirmed at the end of September that they would part ways at the end of the 2026 campaign.

With very few seats remaining on the 2027 grid, Ocon's options for a full-time drive in F1 next year appear to be limited.

But when asked where he could take his talents next season, speaking to the media including RacingNews365, Ocon replied: “F1.

“That's where I deserve to be, if I look at the results and what I've shown in F1. I deserve to be in F1.

“Of course, there are other categories which are fantastic as well. But I want to be racing in F1 for the next five to seven years.

“That's where I want to be, so I will keep pushing to be in that position. In the near future, that's the only thing I'm looking at so far.”

When asked if he would race even if he didn't obtain an F1 drive, Ocon stated: “No.”

Ocon insisted that he will stick around in F1 in any circumstance, even if it means he will not get to race in other categories.

Should he fail to sign for a full-time seat for 2027, Ocon insisted it would mean taking on a third driver role.

“Yes. If there are no possibilities to race next year, that's what I will do.”

A third driver role is something Ocon is no stranger to, having performed the duties at Mercedes in 2019 before joining Renault the following year.
