Who is Gabriel Bortoleto?
In 2024, Gabriel Bortoleto competed as a rookie in Formula 2 with the Invicta team. The McLaren junior performed extremely well and managed to win the championship, immediately attracting attention.
As a result, Bortoleto was able to leave the McLaren program at the end of 2024 to join the Stake F1 Team as a Formula 1 driver in 2025.
The Brazilian will drive the 2026 season with Audi alongside teammate Nico Hülkenberg.

Karting & transition to formula cars
Gabriel Bortoleto started karting at the age of eight. The Brazilian competed in regional races before advancing to national and international competitions.
He impressively finished third in the OKJ class in both the European and World Championships and secured second place in the WSK Super Master Series.
In 2020, Bortoleto transitioned to single-seaters, competing in the Italian Formula 4 Championship with Prema. He finished fifth in the standings. In 2021 and 2022, the Brazilian raced in the Formula Regional European and Asian Championships.
F2 and F3
After gaining experience in formula cars, Gabriel Bortoleto made the step up to the Formula 3 Championship in 2023.
He signed with the Trident team and had an extremely dominant season, becoming the champion with a 45-point lead over second place. This success led to him joining the McLaren junior team at the end of the season.
Following his successful 2023 season, Bortoleto moved up to Formula 2, driving for the Invicta Racing Team.
It was another incredibly successful season, as he defeated his title rival Isack Hadjar to become the Formula 2 champion.
Bortoleto arrives in F1
Bortoleto joined the Stake F1 team for the 2025 season alongside Nico Hulkenberg and scored his first points with a run to eighth in Austria.
He ended the year 19th in the standings.
The Brazilian driver has remained with the team for the 2026 campaign and once again is partnering Hulkenberg as the team transitioned to Audi.
