Colton Herta has explained how he actually "enjoys" the "hectic" experience of changing between F1 and F2 machinery when he is on Cadillac duty.
The American racer has taken the MAC-26 out for three FP1 sessions thus far in 2026 as he completes a full season in FIA F2, and has driven in Barcelona, Hungary, and Italy.
His fourth and final FP1 outing of the season has yet to be confirmed, but it is unlikely to clash again with F1, meaning he will not have to dovetail running both machines on a Friday morning.
In his last outing in Italy, Herta crashed in F2 practice before quickly getting adjusted to take over Sergio Perez's car.
However, the former IndyCar star has detailed how he actually enjoys the experience of chopping and changing between the cars.
"It's very enjoyable. Actually, it's very hectic," Herta began to media, including RacingNews365.
"You don't have time to sit down and think about anything other than what you're doing next.
"You're constantly just going from meeting to meeting to meeting and car to car to car. So I find it very enjoyable.
"I like how chaotic and hectic it is, and how much time you get in the cars.
"So it definitely is tough to jump between them, but I enjoy the process of it."

Herta's progression in F1
As for his getting up to speed in grand prix machinery, Herta felt that as he gains more experience, he is learning and "seeing improvements."
"I think it's just about getting comfortable and then understanding what the drivers think the main problems of the car are, and so then I can kind of expect a bit more and try to close down on that learning period," he added.
"Every time I've got in the car, it's been really nice, and you know the transition of coming up to speed.
"I think all it is is just time needed to be able to maximise it completely. But every time I'm seeing improvements, so it's positive."
