Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are locked in the closest battle among the 11 pairs of F1 team-mates when it comes to qualifying.

Only counting grand prix qualifying sessions, Leclerc is ahead 6-5 in the head-to-head, and in terms of average time delta, the Monegasque is 0.050s faster on average than Hamilton.

In Belgium for example, Leclerc was just 0.002s faster than Hamilton in Q3, whilst the biggest gap between them actually came in Barcelona.

Here, as Leclerc crashed in Q3 before setting a lap-time, under RacingNews365 parameters for calculating this data, the Q2 laps are used as this was the last session in which both drivers set a lap. Leclerc was 0.237s faster than Hamilton in Q2.

The pair are narrowly ahead of fellow 6-5 drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas of Cadillac, and Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad of Racing Bulls, with Perez and Lawson both less than 0.100s faster than their team-mate on average.

The biggest gulf between team-mates in qualifying is Fernando Alonso vs Lance Stroll, which stands at 9-2 in Alonso's favour, with an average time delta of 0.375s in Alonso's favour, narrowly ahead of Carlos Sainz over Alex Albon at Williams.
