Cadillac F1 hopeful Felipe Drugovich is wary of how many drivers the new outfit is speaking to, ahead of its entry next season.
Drugovich is yet to compete in the pinnacle of motorsport, and has been Aston Martin's reserve since winning the 2022 Formula 2 title.
The Brazilian has made several first practice appearances, and also replaced Lance Stroll for pre-season testing ahead of the 2023 campaign.
His competitive world championship single-seater debut will be made in this weekend's Formula E Berlin E-Prix, but his goal remains F1.
When asked by RacingNews365 if racing in F1 remains a possibility, Drugovich answered: "It's difficult to know, to be fair. I mean, at this point, we're obviously trying to see what opportunities there are for next year.
"That could or could not be something for next year, but at the same time, I need to have something else that would get me racing for the whole year.
"Something that I could really focus on and not just be looking for opportunities here and there for stand-in races. So it's, something that I'm looking for."
Drugovich is one of several names being considered by Cadillac, a list which includes both Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
The Aston Martin reserve confirmed the 11th F1 team is an option, although doubts his chances given the length of Cadillac's list of possible drivers.
"Yeah, it is an option," confirmed Drugovich. "But at the same time, again, it's very hard as they're talking to many, many drivers.
"And yeah, I would obviously wish to be there, and I would love to be there racing, and that's my dream, and I'm trying to be there.
"But at the same time, there is racing outside of F1 as well. There's a life outside of f1 so we need to wait and see a little bit."
