Jenson Button has admitted that "maybe one day" he will be tempted to become the Team Principal of an F1 outfit, though says he feels "too young" at present. Button, 42, is currently a Senior Advisor at Williams, while also working as a pundit for Sky Sports F1 and leading his own team in the off-road Extreme E series. While he has a long list of projects keeping him busy, and plenty of ambitions going forward, the 2009 World Champion has not ruled out taking control of a team in the future.
Will Button one day take charge of an F1 team?
In a fan-submitted Q&A video series posted on Williams' channels, Button was asked about the prospect of one day making a full-scale return to the F1 paddock. "A Team Principal? It looks like a tough job; lots of arguing with other Team Principals!" laughed Button, who made his F1 debut with Williams back in 2000. "Who knows what the future holds? I feel too young at the moment, [and] there's a lot of other stuff I'd like to do, but yeah, maybe one day."
Button a big fan of F1's new era
Covering a wide range of topics, Button also gave his thoughts on the direction the sport is heading in, declaring himself a big fan of the sport's latest rules reset . "I love the new car designs," said the 15-time Grand Prix winner. "To be fair, I didn't like the previous cars, because when I was racing the cars were a bit smaller, then they went much bigger, much longer, much wider – and they just felt massive. "They're still massive, but at least they look proper. I think the way that they flow is beautiful."
