Zak Brown has joked he feared having a "heart attack" after the "worst two hours" as McLaren secured the constructors' in Abu Dhabi.
For the first time since 1998, McLaren secured the constructors' title as Lando Norris dominated the season-finale to deliver the title after a messy afternoon for Oscar Piastri, whose race was ruined by Max Verstappen tipping him into a spin at Turn 1 on the opening lap.
Reflecting on the title-decider as McLaren won by 14 points from Ferrari, Brown revealed how his nerves nearly boiled over, having guided McLaren from the nadir of 2018 to world champions in six years.
"That was the worst two hours of my life by far," Brown told Sky Sports F1.
"Lando drove brilliantly, and it was unfortunate what happened to Oscar at the start, but the team was flawless, and I think I was ready to have a heart attack for two hours.
"Lando carried us, not making any mistakes, we were worried about safety cars, I was worried about everything, but he drove flawlessly.
"Next year, we will try and repeat with the constructors' and get the drivers', but I'll let Oscar and Lando figure that out."
