The brother of former Alpine F1 team principal Oliver Oakes is set for a criminal trial in April 2027, after being charged with being in possession of large amounts of criminal property, in the form of cash.
Oliver Oakes resigned from his role as Alpine team boss on May 6, shortly following the Miami Grand Prix, after it emerged his brother William had been arrested and remanded in custody by the Metropolitan Police in the Silverstone Park area of Northamptonshire.
William Oakes recently appeared twice before Northampton Crown Court to plead not guilty to all charges and then to request bail before trial.
Judge Adrienne Lucking granted William Oakes bail, with the trial set for April 2027.
He is accused of being in possession of criminally-obtained cash, with the sums of £831,885; €46,120, and $10,000.
Last week, William Oakes also resigned as a director of Hitech Grand Prix, according to publicly available documents on Companies House.
