Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell combined to set a new all-time F1 record in the Mexico City Grand Prix, that has stood since 2016.

The trio finished second-fourth-fifth in Mexico, respectively to score a total of 40 points, which pushed the total number of points scored by British drivers in 2024 to 688 - once Ollie Bearman's seven points are factored in.

This mark of 688 eclipses the previous record of most points scored by a nation in a single season of F1 that had stood since Nico Rosberg's 2016 title-winning campaign.

That year, German drivers scored a total of 670 points, with Rosberg hauling 385 to defeat Hamilton by five points, with Sebastian Vettel on 212, with Nico Hulkenberg adding 72.

Prior to the Mexico weekend, Germany actually secured the top three spots in the ranking with 658 in 2015 and 648 in 2013.

The highest non-British-German country in the list is the Netherlands, which in 2023 scored 575 points through Max Verstappen as he set a host of new F1 records in the single-most dominant season of grand prix racing by a single driver.
