The #3 Verstappen Racing crew of Max Verstappen and Lucas Auer have received a three-place grid penalty for the first 24 Hours of Nürburgring Qualifiers race this evening.
During qualifying for Saturday evening's four-hour race earlier in the morning, Auer caused a collision with the #941 Porsche.
Auer was behind the wheel of the #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 before Verstappen, with the incident having caused the #941 to lose control and steer towards a wall.
The incident was quickly placed under investigation, with Verstappen and Auer having received a three-place grid penalty for causing a collision.
It has dropped the #3 from sixth on the grid to ninth, leaving the duo with plenty of work ahead of them in Saturday's race which gets underway at 17:30 CET and can be watched live on RacingNews365.
