Oliver Bearman triggered a red flag during the third free practice session at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia after a thin strip of carbon broke free from the brake duct of his front-right brake.
The Haas driver was running seventh in FP3 with 25 minutes of the hour gone at the Sepang International Circuit when the interruption occurred.
A marshal soon retrieved the discarded material from the inside of Turn 10, allowing the session to resume after a five-minute stoppage.
