The FIA is considering its options around the start time of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix due to the ongoing threat of a thunderstorm on race day.

Throughout the week, the forecast for Melbourne on Sunday has remained steadfast that heavy rain will fall. This could severely disrupt the day's race programme, notably the grand prix itself, which is due to start at 3 p.m. local time.

Lando Norris claimed the first pole position of the 2025 F1 season, beating McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri by less than a tenth of a second.

Verstappen demands Red Bull action after first McLaren blow

Max Verstappen has called on Red Bull to "make strides" with the RB21 after McLaren dominated the first qualifying session of the F1 season.

Despite the Dutchman turning in a better-than-expected third place in the grid-setting hour at Albert Park, his best time was almost four-tenths of a second adrift of pole-sitter Lando Norris.

Lewis Hamilton has explained the 'reality check' he feels he has received during his first grand prix weekend at Ferrari after qualifying in eighth place.

Hamilton has been a step behind team-mate Charles Leclerc through the weekend and qualified one place behind the Monegasque as Ferrari took the fourth row at a track it has won four of the last six races.
