Nico Hulkenberg could join Audi team-mate Gabriel Bortoleto in being handed a penalty by the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia stewards.
Bortoleto was handed a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision with Carlos Sainz in his Williams early in the race at the Sepang International Circuit.
The Brazilian driver attempted a move on the inside through Turn 3, only to hit Sainz on the left, sending the Spaniard into a spin.
Over the radio, Bortoleto complained that he was not left room; in turn, Sainz bemoaned the fact that he had left his rival space.
The stewards agreed with Sainz, with Bortoleto serving his penalty later in the race at a pit stop.
Hulkenberg, meanwhile, will face the stewards after the race as he is under investigation for an unsafe release.
