Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack has urged the team to stop "accumulating" problems that disrupt their practice sessions. Lance Stroll failed to set a lap on Friday after giving up his AMR23 for Felipe Drugovich for an obligated rookie run, before he ground to a halt when returning to the cockpit in FP2. The Canadian stopped on the exit of the Ascari Chicane having suffered a suspected fuel system issue, triggering red flags less than five minutes into the hour session. Whilst Stroll's side of the garage endured struggles, Fernando Alonso escaped any troubles to finish eighth fastest.
Krack: We need to do a better job
Aston Martin had problems with the DRS system on Friday at Baku earlier this year and although that has since been addressed, Krack has insisted the number of issues must be reduced. "You've seen what's happened again: we had planned to have Felipe in the morning and then we have a reliability issue in the afternoon," Krack told Sky Sports F1 . "So it's not very fortunate and we are currently accumulating these moments a little bit, and we have to do a much better job there, independent of which driver is in [the car]."
