Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has acknowledged there is “a lot of frustration” to manage amid the team’s poor start to the season.
The Silverstone-based squad has faced a range of challenges with its car early in the year, both on the chassis and power unit side.
Last time out in Miami, both cars finished the race for the first time this season, as Honda made a notable step forward in terms of reliability.
However, the car still lacks significant pace and is circulating towards the back of the field, unable to contend for points.
Krack insisted there is “no point” in becoming downbeat about the situation, but admitted such frustration is a natural response to adversity.
“We are all racers and we don't want to drive at the back of the field,” Krack told media including RacingNews365.
“So year on year, you want to improve, but you also have to be reflective of reality.
“When you see that you have problems, there's no point in being frustrated, but you have to acknowledge that it is a human reaction.”
Krack dealt praise to its drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, for how they have handled the pressure of the setback.
“The drivers are the ones who are exposed the most,” he said. “I mentioned that before, and that is the ones that we have also to give the most credit.
“To have experienced drivers like Lance and Fernando to drive at the back of the field is not where their place is.
“There is certainly a lot of frustration that we need to manage. But on the other hand, they also great professionals.”
