Arvid Lindblad is set to become the 782nd Formula 1 driver when he makes his debut at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix on March 8th.
The British-Swede is being promoted to join Racing Bulls in 2026 at the age of just 18, and is set to make his debut in Melbourne at the age of 18 years, 7 months and 0 days.
At the other end of the spectrum, Fernando Alonso is to begin his 25th season, with Australia set to be his 429th entry and 426th start.
He will be 44 years, 7 months, and nine days old when lining up in Melbourne, meaning Alonso and Lindblad will jointly hold the record for the two drivers with the biggest age gap to compete against each other in F1 history.
The current record-holders are Alonso and Kimi Antonelli in 2025, with a total of 25 years and 27 days between their birthdates of July 29th, 1981 and August 25th, 2006.
Lindblad was born on August 8th, 2007, four days after one of the most infamous incidents in F1.
On August 4th, 2007, Alonso blocked McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying for the Hungarian GP, after Hamilton had ignored a team order to allow Alonso through. This ignited the set of events which re-opened Spygate and ended up costing McLaren $100 million.
Lindblad was also born after Michael Schumacher retired for the first time, two months after Hamilton's first win at the 2007 Canadian GP in just his seventh race, and Sebastian Vettel making his F1 debut at Indianapolis in the next race.
Lindblad's first grand prix will be Hamilton's 381st.
