Andretti 'honoured' to get FIA approval amid F1 bid

Andretti has issued a statement following their approval from the FIA for their application to join the Formula 1 grid. The team was confirmed to be the only one out of four applicants to receive approval, following a "rigorous" and "comprehensive" application process by the governing body. The FIA confirmed that Andretti met the criteria and that their findings have been passed on to Formula One Management, who will make a call on whether they satisfy the commercial requirements before joining the grid. Andretti announced its plans to join the F1 grid in the future and confirmed a tie-up with General Motors brand, Cadillac, in January. The team plans to open up a new facility in Fishers, Indiana while also establishing a satellite headquarters in Europe.
