Donald Trump is to wave the green flag and also take a 'lap of honour' in the Beast ahead of this weekend's IndyCar race in Washington, D.C.
For the first time in the US capital's history, a motor race will take place, with the Freedom 250 taking place to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
The 147-lap race is on a street course near to the Capitol building, and will be at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, near the White House.
US media have reported that Trump, whose idea the race was earlier this year, is to wave the green flag for the race, and also lap the track in his armoured limousine, dubbed 'The Beast.'
It is not the first motorsport event Trump has attended, with him visiting the 2020 and 2025 Daytona 500s in NASCAR, memorably taking the Beast out to lead the formation laps, much to the delight of some of the drivers in the former.
He also attended the 2024 F1 Miami Grand Prix, and was seen to be speaking with CEO Zak Brown and race winner Lando Norris.
