Esteban Ocon will play no part in qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix following a crash during FP3 at the Miami International Autodrome. The Frenchman made heavy contact with the wall during the practice session, forcing him to withdraw and robbing him of crucial running time. Ocon walked away from the incident before being taken to the Medical Centre for precautionary checks. But Alpine have since discovered a crack in his Alpine chassis, meaning his car is unable to compete in qualifying.

That was a big one but I am ok. A cracked chassis means I won’t be able to take part in Quali today. Absolutely gutted but full send for tomorrow. Allez Alpine. pic.twitter.com/5TQfZuvBkH — Esteban Ocon (@OconEsteban) May 7, 2022
