The Alpine F1 team has confirmed it has dropped Jack Doohan from a full-time race seat in favour of Franco Colapinto with immediate effect for the next five races.

Colapinto signed a multi-year deal with Alpine earlier this year, becoming one of its reserve drivers as well as getting chances to test older F1 cars from the Enstone-based squad.

FIA makes clear McLaren decision after major inspection - report

It has been reported that following an intensive post-Miami Grand Prix inspection, the FIA has decided that McLaren's rear brake design is legal.

According to The Race, multiple checks, including a detailed inspection was undertaken by motorsport's governing body following the race at the Miami International Autodrome.

FIA president considers scrapping F1 cost cap

The FIA president is considering scrapping the cost cap, which governs F1, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Introduced in 2021 to limit the amount of money each team can spend to a flat rate to try and close the grid up, the cost cap has been viewed as a key pillar behind F1 teams starting to become profitable businesses.
