Fernando Alonso has denied he is feeling frustration during Aston Martin's lacklustre start to the season.
The Silverstone-based squad endured a dream start to last year's campaign, with Alonso scoring six podiums in the opening eight races.
However, the outfit's form tapered off as the season wore on, and it failed to commence the new season in competitive fashion compared to its rivals.
Alonso downplayed the significance of Aston Martin's slip down the pecking order, feeling the competitive changes are a natural part of F1.
"No, I will not call it frustration,” Alonso told media including RacingNews365. “I think it's the nature of the sport. At the end of the day, we are not happy with our position, that's for sure.
“But in December, only one guy will be happy. Probably the second guy will be more frustrated than me in Abu Dhabi, the third guy and the fourth and things like that.
“So that's the nature of the sport.”
Alonso asserted the team has not been deterred by its recent form as it eyes an opportunity with the next set of technical regulations.
“But I'm enjoying the journey,” Alonso added. “We want to be champions.
“We want to be competitive next year and also take the big opportunity in 2026.
“It's not time to be frustrated. It's time to enjoy the process of becoming a big team.”
