Alex Albon has hinted Williams is seeking a driver with vast Formula 1 experience for the 2025 campaign.
The Grove-based squad has a vacancy for next year with the seat currently occupied by Logan Sargeant not yet confirmed.
Sargeant has struggled for form during his tenure in F1, leading to increased speculation that he will depart the team at the end of the year.
Outgoing Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has been touted with a drive at Williams alongside Albon, who penned a multi-year extension earlier this season.
When asked by media including RacingNews365 if he would prefer a more experienced partner, Albon said: “On my side, I'm not so opinionated or phased around who my team-mate is.
“In terms of experience and general development of the team, of course, it would be beneficial.
“We’re on this long journey, on this long project, we need feedback. I look at myself back from my Red Bull days.
“When I joined Williams, there were a lot of things I could bring to the table, which I felt was helping my feedback, but also the performance of the car.”

Multiple other drivers have also been linked with Sargeant's drive, including Valtteri Bottas, who raced for Williams from 2013 to 2016.
Albon confirmed there are numerous names under consideration but highlighted experience will be key to Williams' future.
“To be honest with you, there are so many names on the list, whoever it may be, I think it will be generally it would be a driver with experience that would come in.
“In that case, it's really not my say.
“But it will be important for us, especially if you want to be fighting for the midfield in the next few years.”
When asked what his relationship with Sainz is like, Albon replied: “As good as it is with everyone else. There are no differences.”
