2026 F1 Dutch Grand Prix - Zandvoort Driver Ratings

The Dutch Grand Prix saw Lando Norris come out on top as the reigning world champion secured back-to-back victories.

Norris is the grid's man in form as he looks to make a late charge in the drivers' title fight, but he still sits a long way down on leader Kimi Antonelli.

It's no surprise that it's the Briton who leads the way in our driver ratings following his immaculate performance.

The top five

Lando Norris - 10

Pole position, race victory, and a deeply satisfying fightback to make it two wins on the bounce. Norris snatched pole from the Mercedes pair as rain threatened, having also produced a strong sprint showing to keep himself firmly in the weekend's lead fight. He recovered from a tricky first stint in the grand prix to pass Kimi Antonelli on lap 54 and pull clear to win by over 11 seconds. He managed a late Virtual Safety Car without fuss and gave Zandvoort a farewell to remember.

Kimi Antonelli - 8.5

The championship leader qualified third after a composed Saturday and backed it up with a solid sprint result before making an excellent start in the grand prix. Antonelli jumped Russell at the launch to seize the race lead, which he held for the majority of the afternoon. Pace deserted him on the second set of hard tyres, however, and Norris swept through. A double podium alongside Russell extended Mercedes' constructors' lead, and the 18 points keep his title campaign firmly on track.

Liam Lawson - 8.5

Drafted into the Red Bull RB22 at short notice after Isack Hadjar's wrist injury, Lawson delivered a commendable weekend. He qualified eighth, put together a clean sprint, matched the car's realistic pace ceiling, and brought it home seventh in the grand prix for six points as the team's sole finisher after Verstappen's first-lap exit. A 10-second penalty for a yellow-flag infringement did not cost him a position.

George Russell - 8

Russell's Zandvoort weekend was quietly excellent. He won the sprint from pole on Saturday, qualified a strong second for the grand prix, and defended resiliently against both Ferraris on ageing tyres to secure third. He lost second to Antonelli at the start and could not match Norris' late-race surge, but his pace and execution across both competitive sessions were impressive. A sprint win and a grand prix podium represents a fine haul.

Yuki Tsunoda - 8

Recalled to Racing Bulls for a one-off cameo after months away from the grid, Tsunoda adapted impressively. He qualified 12th for both the sprint and the grand prix, narrowly missing Q3, and spent the race battling inside the top ten before slipping to 11th. A brave overtake on Pierre Gasly was a highlight, while his sprint work showed he was quickly back up to speed. His performance made a compelling case for a full-time return.

The bottom five

Sergio Perez - 5

It was another grim weekend for Perez at Cadillac. He qualified last, 22nd out of 22, and started the grand prix from the pit lane after set-up changes. He trailed home 15th, two laps down, having also finished 21st in the sprint, three laps adrift of the winner. The Cadillac is clearly a difficult car, but the gulf to team-mate Valtteri Bottas across qualifying, sprint, and the grand prix offered little in the way of mitigation.

Lance Stroll - 4.5

Stroll qualified 19th, managed only 17th in the sprint, and then retired from the grand prix on lap 45 with a handling problem caused by suspected car damage. It was a weekend to forget for the Canadian, whose Aston Martin lacked pace throughout both qualifying and race conditions. Team-mate Fernando Alonso at least scraped into ninth for two points, which only underlined the extent of Stroll's difficulties.

Carlos Sainz - 4

Sainz's struggles at Williams continued with a deeply frustrating Zandvoort weekend. He was knocked out in Q1 and lined up 17th on the grand prix grid, just 0.022 seconds behind team-mate Alexander Albon but equally adrift of the midfield pace. The sprint was barely any better, with a pit-lane start after parc fermé changes leading to a dismal 20th-place finish, a lap down. He ended the grand prix in 16th, two laps off the lead, which was overshadowed by a collision with his team-mate.

Oliver Bearman - 4

Bearman's Dutch Grand Prix lasted precisely two racing laps. After qualifying 20th and finishing only 15th in the sprint, he completed two laps before the Verstappen-induced red flag, only for his Haas to suffer a complete power-unit shutdown on the formation lap for the restart. Through no fault of his own, his race was over before it had truly begun. The sprint finish was the only silver lining from a wretched weekend, but throughout the event, he lacked pace compared to Ocon.

Max Verstappen - 4

The final Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort will haunt Verstappen. He qualified a modest seventh after failing to find his usual rhythm, while his sprint outing did little to suggest Red Bull had the pace to challenge at the front. He reported feeling unwell all weekend and then lost the rear of his RB22 on the still-damp banking at the final corner on the opening lap. The heavy impact brought out the red flag, and his home race was over after zero completed laps. A cruel farewell for the four-time champion at a circuit that has given him so many great memories.
