George Russell roared to a first-ever Sprint pole position with a dominant performance at the Chinese Grand Prix.
The Mercedes driver, who has topped every segment of the weekend thus far, posted a 1:31.520 on his first run in SQ3, 0.360s faster than team-mate Kimi Antonelli, with Lewis Hamilton third.
On the second run, Antonelli marginally improved as Russell failed to do so, leaving the target as 1:31.520, which remained unbeaten as Lando Norris shuffled Hamilton down to fourth.
However, Antonelli is under a stewards' investigation for impeding Norris through the session, with seventh-place Pierre Gasly also facing a similar investigation for blocking Max Verstappen, who qualified eighth for Red Bull.
