The Miami Autodrome will host its fourth-ever grand prix this weekend as it entertains the latest round of the F1 championship.
The event will see the use of the sprint format for the second time this season, giving the drivers and teams little time to prepare ahead of the competitive sessions.
Miami typically has hot weather at this time of year - however, the danger of rain is set to be a threat throughout the upcoming weekend.
On Friday, the sole practice session of the weekend is scheduled to take place in dry and sunny conditions.
A few clouds will be present, while a moderate southeast wind will blow, and drivers will also not have to worry about rain during the sprint qualifying session that follows practice.
However, the threat of rain increases on Saturday. Thunderstorms could be a factor during the sprint race, which takes place at 12:00 local time.
The showers will gradually move away from the circuit, and later in the day, when qualifying will occur, dry conditions are expected with a temperature of 25°C.
During the main race on Sunday, there is a greater chance of showers. Some thunderstorms are approaching in the afternoon and may pass over the circuit.
It is difficult at this time to say exactly when and how much rain will fall, however they are expected into the evening, meaning they could hit in time for the race.
Despite the predicted rainfall, the temperature will rise to 28 degrees during the grand prix with a moderate east to southeast wind blowing.
