A glorious return to form, a perfect low-key weekend and a driver's belligerence coming back to bite.

The top five
Max Verstappen - 10
Rather anonymous throughout practice, but this was exactly what he and the team wanted. Unleashed devastating pace to steal pole with the record-breaking lap, and was the result ever in doubt? The sign of a great champion is winning races against a better car that you probably shouldn't.
Charles Leclerc - 9
Fourth was the best he could have achieved in both qualifying and the race, and he achieved fourth in both qualifying and the race. Looked race-y early on against Piastri, but fell away over the course of the first stint. Did well to get within a half-a-tenth of P2 on the grid, but fully maximised everything.
Gabriel Bortoleto - 9
A new contender for rookie of the season. Bortoleto qualified eighth fastest but was seventh on the grid after once again out-pacing Nico Hulkenberg by a fair marign to make Q3. In a messy race for some of his rivals, he kept his nose clean to bring home a fourth points haul in the last six races. Could have out-qualified Antonelli, and was nearly two-tenths behind.
Lando Norris - 7.5
Verstappen was almost unbeatable this weekend, so Norris did the best he could to snare second in qualifying and the race. The better of the two McLaren drivers on a strange off-weekend for Piastri, but a step down on those above. Gap is now 31 points.
Lewis Hamilton - 7.5
His best performance in a while. Set a headline FP1-topping time and had a decent turn of pace in practice and took a strong fifth on the road in qualifying before his penalty. Was decent throughout the race, making key overtakes at key times, especially on Alonso, but could he have caught Russell for fifth? Hamilton only finished 4.4.s behind his former team-mate...
The bottom five
Esteban Ocon - 4
Firmly the second-best of the two Haas drivers this weekend, Ocon was narrowly through to Q2 whilst finishing last in that segment, whilst Bearman came with 0.013s of Q3. Was a lapped 15th in the race, picking up a harsh five-second penalty for forcing Stroll wide, but it made no difference.
Franco Colapinto - 3.5
Alpine was always expected to struggle at Monza given its lack of straight-line speed, but Colapinto at least did well to out-qualify Gasly, hence his extra 0.5 mark over his team-mate on a weekend to forget.
Liam Lawson - 3
Bemoaned a "soul-destroying" mistake in Q1 at Lesmo 1 which left him 20th and slowest, before a typically belligerent drive in the Tsunoda incident. A scrappy weekend and not one of his best.
Pierre Gasly - 3
Like Colapinto, a difficult weekend was navigated well, but it was nothing special. Earned a pit-lane start as a present after signing a new contract.
Lance Stroll - 3
Like the Alpines, it was a largely anonymous, difficult weekend for Stroll. Eliminated in Q1, climbed into the points waiting for others to stop, then came home last once he pitted.
