Lando Norris claimed the first pole position of the 2025 F1 season, beating McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri by less than a tenth of a second.
Max Verstappen and George Russell will line third and fourth respectively for the curtain-raising Australian Grand Prix.
Yuki Tsunoda qualified fifth-fastest in Melbourne, whilst Alex Albon, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz rounded out the top 10.
Liam Lawson and Kimi Antonelli suffered surprise early eliminations from qualifying, getting knocked out in Q1 at Albert Park.
The pair endured a difficult afternoon along with fellow rookie Ollie Bearman who did not set a lap time amid further issues in his Haas.
