Leonardo Fornaroli put together a dominant display during the F2 sprint at the British Grand Prix to win his first race since 2021, when he was competing in Italian F4.
The 2024 F3 champion started from first but lost the lead to Kush Maini, setting up a superb wheel-to-wheel battle over the first lap.
However, the young Italian prevailed, building a comfortable advantage, which he retained until the chequered flag.
Sebastian Montoya finished in second, with Roman Stanek completing the podium places. Maini fell back to fourth, and Joshua Durksen rounded out the top five.
Jak Crawford, Luke Browning and Richard Verschoor crossed the line in sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, the last of the points-paying places.
Championship leader Verschoor had a difficult race, slipping outside down the order at the start.
Alex Dunne also endured a disappointing afternoon after a puncture saw him fall to the bottom of the order before retiring.
