Leonardo Fornaroli stormed to F2 feature race pole position at the Austrian Grand Prix, setting a lap time of 1:15.229 in his Invicta Racing car.
Victor Martins and Richard Verschoor went second and third quickest at the Red Bull Ring. Gabriele Mini and Amaury Cordeel rounded out the top five in Spielberg.
Going sixth fastest was Roman Stanek, ahead of Alex Dunne, Joshua Durksen, Pepe Marti and John Bennett completed the top 10 and positions that will be reversed for the sprint.
Cian Shields is due to be investigated after the session for crossing over the white line on pit lane entry. Jak Crawford will also be looked at more closely by the stewards for an unsafe release.
Championship leader Dunne, fresh off the back of an impressive FP1 debut for McLaren, disappointed. The Irishman endured a difficult session getting reacclimatised to his Rodin Motorsport car. Likewise, Ferrari junior Dino Beganovic also struggled, qualifying down in P21.
