Gabriele Mini topped the first F2 qualifying session of the year, beating out Victor Martins and DAMS Lucas Oil driver Jak Crawford.

Setting a lap time of 1.29.286, he was +0.114 faster than the Frenchman in second place.

Richard Verschoor and Alex Dunne qualified for the F2 feature race in Melbourne in fourth and fifth, whilst Roman Stanek, Dino Beganovic, Luke Browning, Joshua Durksen and Leonardo Fornaroli rounded out the top 10 and reverse grid positions at Albert Park.

The MP Motorsport of Oliver Goethe and the Trident of Max Esterson clashed early in the session, ruining the latter's 30 minutes of running.

Update: Mini was stripped of pole position following the session for impeding Crawford. the Prema driver was handed three-place grid drops for both the sprint and features races. It elevates Martins to pole.

Six other drivers had already been handed 10-place grid penalties for the sprint and feature races, which is not calculated into the full classification below.
