Max Verstappen recorded a third straight Spanish Grand Prix victory for his seventh victory of the 2024 season.
After falling behind the fast-starting George Russell at Turn 1, Verstappen quickly passed the Mercedes on Lap 3 and pulled away for what was a relatively straight-forward victory.
Pole-sitter Lando Norris dropped down the field after going off-strategy having lost the lead and came back to take the fight against the Red Bull but ultimately fell short.
Lewis Hamilton banked a first grand prix podium of the season in third for Mercedes, his 198th overall and first since second place in Mexico City last season, a career-worst run of 13 races.
