Lando Norris claimed a second career Formula 1 pole position with a stunning late lap to deny Max Verstappen in the Spanish Grand Prix.
A 1:13.403 was Verstappen's benchmark, as Norris was up through sector two on the final lap, with the McLaren denying Verstappen a 40th pole by just 0.020s.
It is Norris's first pole since the 2021 Russian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton was third for Mercedes, with George Russell fourth and home drivers Carlos Sainz sixth and Fernando Alonso 11th, but will start 10th once Sergio Perez's grid penalty is applied.
