Max Verstappen ended the opening practice session for the Italian Grand Prix fastest, as Andrea Kimi Antonelli crashed on his Mercedes debut.
10 minutes into FP1, Antonelli lost control of the Mercedes at the Parabolica, bringing out the red flags.
He was able to climb unaided from the car as barrier repairs took place, with Valtteri Bottas quickly jumping to the head of the times after the restart.
He was eventually usurped by Verstappen on a 1:21.676s on the soft tyres, with Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz ahead of the Finn.
Lewis Hamilton was seventh, with Kevin Magnussen earning a trip to the stewards for impeding Carlos Sainz early on.
Williams debutant Franco Colapinto was 17th, having had a quiet session, but had a late off at the Parabolica.
