Lando Norris kicked off the British Grand Prix weekend in the strongest fashion, leading Free Practice 1 at Silverstone.
Clocking a 1:27.420s on the soft C3 tyres, Norris was 0.134s faster than Aston Martin's Lance Stroll in the red-flagged session after an early spin for RB's Yuki Tsunoda.
Oscar Piastri was third in the sister McLaren but suffered a late hydraulic failure and ground to a halt in the pit-entry.
Max Verstappen was fourth, George Russell fifth and Lewis Hamilton seventh although none of the trio bolted on the soft tyres, just using the mediums to set their lap-times.
Newly announced 2025 Haas driver Ollie Bearman took 13th in his latest FP1 outing.
