Max Verstappen set himself up for Miami Grand Prix qualifying by topping second practice for Red Bull.
The two-time World Champion posted a 1:27.930 to finish 0.385s faster than Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, with Charles Leclerc third.
But the Monegasque ended his session in the barriers after sliding off the road at Turns 7 and 8.
Sergio Perez was fourth ahead of Fernando Alonso for Aston Martin and McLaren's Lando Norris. Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon and Alex Albon rounded out the top 10, whilst FP1 table-topper George Russell wound up 15th.
