Mercedes enters the new power unit regulations on the back of having experienced four difficult years in Formula 1.
After dominating the sport from the start of the turbo-hybrid era in 2014, it fell back during the ground effect era. Only sporadic victories were claimed, while no title challenges were made.
In 2023 and 2025, the Silver Arrows still came second in the constructors' championship, but it did not come close to the eight constructors' titles they won from 2014 through 2021.
However, Mercedes has already been deemed as the favourite for the new era starting in 2026, in part because of the new power unit being introduced. Back in 2014 when new engines were introduced, Mercedes was untouchable.
On Thursday, Mercedes' livery for this year will be revealed, and RacingNews365 has already created its own concept.
Will this be the livery with which George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will compete for the titles?
