With 11 rounds of the 2025 F1 season remaining, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are separated by just 16 points as the title fight intensifies.
In the race to become McLaren's first world champion since Lewis Hamilton in 2008, trends between Piastri and Norris have developed.
Piastri has made only one mistake, in the rain in Australia, dropping him from second to ninth in the results, a loss of 16 points, but otherwise has had a strong mentality and has been largely error-free.
Norris meanwhile, has lost nearly double that through a combination of poor qualifying results, leaving him with too much work to do in races, crashing into Piastri and eliminating himself in Canada, or botching the rolling start at Spa. The Briton has been fiercely self-critical in response to some of these errors, especially in qualifying.
The Spa start with Piastri roaring past to earn the optimum strategy, cost Norris a 14-point swing to the Australian driver, which in a title battle as close as this, could be costly.
But has Norris already made one mistake too many to win the world championship?
