Red Bull has confirmed that in September, it will deliver an update on Liam Lawson's career and where he will be next season.
The team's reserve driver has been patiently waiting for a permanent seat on the F1 grid, having impressed so much of the paddock during his stint last season as Daniel Ricciardo's replacement.
Lawson impressed to the extent that it was hinted that he could be offered a seat on the grid for this season in the junior team, although Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda were ultimately retained.
His waiting could soon be over, as Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko revealed in his Speedweek column that an announcement on Lawson's career will be made next month.
An option which has been ruled out is Red Bull loaning the driver to another team, suggesting that he will either be released by the company or given a seat in either the main outfit alongside Max Verstappen or at RB.
Audi has been speculated as a possible option, although others are believed to also be in the race for the seat alongside Nico Hulkenberg at Stake F1 for 2025 and then Audi for 2026.
Where do you think Lawson will race next season?
