Max Verstappen says he is "very satisfied" with the state of Red Bull and the RB19 as his pre-season testing came to an end on Friday. The World Champion was in the car for the full day on Thursday and again on Friday afternoon with Sergio Perez assuming duties on Saturday. Verstappen was set to end the second day fastest, but a late glory run from Zhou Guanyu usurped the benchmark by just 0.040s. Despite that, Verstappen and Red Bull were able to get through a lot of set-up work and changes on the RB19 which has left the #1 driver content heading into next weekend's season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
Verstappen 'satisfied' with RB19
"The test days [have gone] well, especially on Thursday when we drove a lot of laps [157], and were able to test a lot," explained Verstappen. "Today we focused a bit more on the details and made small steps. The car responds very well to everything we change, and we learned a lot for next weekend and also for the races after that. "I'm very satisfied. "Every time I drove the car, I felt comfortable and we were able to go for it right away, that's also important. "For me, these have been positive test days, it remains to be seen how fast we will be here at the Grand Prix, but I am positive."
